-SLEEPLESS-

Eyes turn heavy n red,
Skin goes saggy n pale,
Wrist watch pulls down,
Legs turn stone heavy.
Body cries for a rest.

On a bed soft and warm,
Dumped like a bag of cotton,
Eyes close, mouth open,
Breath goes slow 'n heavy.
Thoughts come to a halt.

Dumped bag gets a jolt,
From a lump in the throat,
Bad cough wakes him up,
Hands run all in dark.
Mouth needs something wet.

Sips of water cure the cough,
As the lump goes down,
Head and body fall again,
Hands and legs spread wide.
Tired eyes gently shut.

Thoughts of her resurface,
Days of past start to dance,
From the day of first meet,
To the day of her last sight.
Making sleep, a thing of past.

Soft bed turns hard,
Heavy breaths, faster beats,
Heart sinks like a ship wreck,
Legs dance to devils music.
And sun rays start to emit.

Eyes still heavy n red,
Skin still saggy n pale,
Wrist watch pulls down,
Legs still stone heavy.
Body cries for a rest.
